For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him.

John 3:16-17

We will behold His glory, the glory of the One and Only. Jesus was God’s glory given to mankind to rescue us and set us free from the destruction of sin and death. He is a free gift, lavished in grace for anyone willing to receive Him. His gift does not come with any strings attached. The only requirement for receiving the gift was Jesus laying down His own life and being raised on the third day. He knew while He was being formed in His mother’s womb of the joy that would be set before Him, and that included His ultimate desire—to be closer to us! All we have to do is believe.

Jesus, there will never be enough words to communicate how grateful I am for all that You have done for me. Thank You for coming to the earth that You created to save me. Help me remember each day to walk in gratitude for everything You have done and for Your free gift of love and grace. Amen.
