The Good Sister

Week 3, Day 4

"'You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your strength, and all your mind.’ And, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ 'Right!' Jesus told him. 'Do this and you will live!'" Luke 10:27-28

Through this story, found in Luke 10:25-37, Jesus taught a startling lesson: Our “neighbors” include those sisters who we sometimes view as our enemies.  This means that in order to walk in faith to God’s command to love our neighbors, we need to love our enemies as well. Jesus wants us to love all people, whether we know and like them or not. Many women struggle in relationship with other women. Jesus gives us an ability through the Holy Spirit to love others regardless of our feelings. Is there a woman in your life who is difficult to love? Keep in mind the Good Samaritan’s example. Love and serve those you don’t necessarily get along with. Then you will be keeping God’s command to love your neighbor, and your sisters, as yourself.
