Fruit Pops
Week 1, Day 3
"Anyone who lives on milk, being still an infant, is not acquainted with the teaching about righteousness. But solid food is for the mature, who by constant use have trained themselves to distinguish good from evil." Hebrews 5:13-14 NIV
Over the summer, I had a pool day with a few friends and all of our kids. My friend opened up a box of brightly colored popsicles for the kids and another box of fruit pops full of chunks of fruit and goodness for the adults. When given the option, I asked for an orange kid popsicle because I wanted to reminisce in the flavors of my childhood. One bite found me tossing it in the trashcan. It tasted like syrup and food coloring- not at all what I remembered! It was then that I realized that my palette had been refined. Now that I had tasted real fruit pops, the syrupy kid pops no longer had any appeal. That is a picture of what getting into the Word will do for your life. As you read and expand your scripture palette, you begin to see Gods heart and ways and realize there is a better, fuller life available to you.
