Walking in Miracles Like Jesus

Key verse

Then Jesus told them, “I tell you the truth, if you have faith and don’t doubt, you can do things like this and much more. You can even say to this mountain, ‘May you be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ and it will happen. You can pray for anything, and if you have faith, you will receive it.”

Matthew 21:21-22 NLT

The disciples were astounded that Jesus was able to make a fig tree shrivel so quickly. When compared to other miracles Jesus did, this seems insignificant. However, when they asked Jesus about it, He began to tell them that they could do things like this and much more! Jesus had already performed almost all of His miracles by this point, including raising Lazarus from the dead after he had been buried for four days! When I read these verses, it stood out to me that the disciples had witnessed many miracles already, and I was surprised the fig tree withering would amaze them. Let our faith be stretched as we realize the depth of what Jesus told them. We can do what He did and more!

Through the power of God, by believing in Christ, we can walk in miracles as Jesus did. We can heal the sick; we can cast out demons; we can even raise the dead! I believe with all my heart that God will work through us in this way if we believe and follow His leading.

Through the power of God, by believing in Christ, we can walk in miracles as Jesus did.

God’s heart is to see people saved, healed, and restored, and we play a vital role in this. It’s easy to be nervous about praying for such bold things, but don’t let it hold you back any longer. Let’s be the hands of Jesus to the lost and hurting people around us. You don’t even have to go far. Look around you, and you’ll quickly find someone in need of a miracle. You may be the one God works through to bring about the answer to their prayer.

Let’s be like Jesus, so a fig tree is not a big deal and walking in miracles is part of your everyday life. It may seem far off, but it’s possible. He said you can pray for anything, and if you have faith, you will receive it. It’s hard to see miracles happen if you’re not praying for them, so start praying and keep praying. When He puts someone on your heart, reach out with love and compassion for them, and let God work in you to bring about their miracle. Let’s pray for the boldness to walk in miracles as Jesus did.

Prayer

Lord Jesus, I believe in You. I believe You did miracles and God still works miracles today. I am amazed that You said I can do what You did and more. This humbles me and astounds me, and, if I’m honest, sometimes it scares me. God, give me boldness to pray for miracles so I can see miracles happen for Your glory. Help me not to lean on my own understanding but to follow the leading of Your Holy Spirit that works in me. I want to grow in this area and walk in the fullness You have called me to. In Jesus’ name I pray, amen.

Questions:

What mountain in my life do I need to command to move?

Who is God laying on my heart to pray a bold prayer over?

Who do I know that needs the miracle of salvation?
