Dan Stallbaum
For nearly twenty years, Dan Stallbaum has been the senior pastor of East Coast Christian Center. He arrived in Brevard County at a tumultuous time when both he and ECCC were fragile. Each, unbeknownst to the other, had just emerged from the aftermath of another man’s broken leadership choices that threatened to destroy the visions God had individiually given them. But, in February 1992, God awakened the dormant dream of a disillusioned former pastor and placed him in leadership in a church hungry for fresh focus. Today, this church and its pastor are both strong, thriving testimonies to the power of restoration and redemption.
Dan’s messages rarely feature three-point alliteration. However, they never fail to deliver Biblical truths in sensible, down-to-earth terms that immediately translate into everyday life. Candid in the unveiling of his own humanity, he uses personal shortcomings to point to the redeeming, healing power of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. His solid teaching and transparent leadership style equip people to live a balanced, Spirit-filled life in the real world.
Having once walked through the pain of losing his dreams, Dan is zealous in urging others to resurrect and pursue their own God-given passions. Currently, he is leading ECCC in the largest building program in the church’s history. This two-year capital stewardship campaign, called Breaking Barriers, Building Dreams, is designed to help a growing church offer more effective ministry to its own church family, to hurting families within the local community, and to a lost and dying world. By expanding the campus, performing much-needed building upgrades, and retiring all mortgage debt, ECCC will be poised to help break barriers and build dreams, having greater impact for the Kingdom of God both locally and globally.
Always looking for practical ways to incorporate God’s Word into daily life, Dan founded and is the daily co-host of Morning Breath, a live, drive-time devotional radio program that airs each weekday morning. Together, he and one of the other staff pastors read and discuss a chapter in the Bible; there is no prepared sermon, just lively, sometimes humorous discussions and personal insights into the Word. Dan also oversees East Coast Christian University, ECCC's accredited university.
When Dan isn’t busy being Pastor Dan he, almost always, can be found outdoors. A former carpenter, he is an avid fisherman and golf enthusiast, and his latest recreational passion is scuba diving. He treasures time with his sons Matt, Jon, and Daniel; his daughter, Jessica; and his seven grandkids, Reagan, Hudson, Emma, Aubrey, Femi Jr. and twins Kaia and Kara. At the end of the day, regardless of other people or circumstances that pull on him, Dan’s primary roles in ministry will always be that of husband, dad, and grandpa.
Carolyn Stallbaum
Carolyn was born and raised in Colorado. It was there that she met Dan, who had moved to the area from Miramar, Florida. They were married in 1976. In 1987, they moved to Rockledge, Florida, with their three children. They now have three married children, a sixteen-year-old son, and seven grandchildren ages five and under! She enjoys watching her grandchildren and knows that all too soon their son Daniel will graduate and leave the nest. Carolyn enjoys being a homemaker, cooking, crocheting and shopping. Finding a bargain at yard sales or the thrift store is a lot of fun. She has been part of the administrative staff for the past 12 years. She hopes that the dream to write a book will be resurrected in the very near future. By far, the most important aspect of her life is her relationship with God, her husband and family and her friends.
