Redeeming Light

Redeeming Light has been shown at three different churches with over 2000 people making decisions for Christ.

Redeeming Light is a production of East Coast Christian Center (ECCC) and Audio Visual Imagineering, Inc. (AVI) designed to deliver the gospel through the stories of five characters, music and laser light. AVI has been producing laser shows for 30 years for U.S. President, kings, corporation, associations, planetarium, amusement parks, special event, and national sports teams. Athough laser shows have been popular in the world for around 35 years, they have never been used to communicate the gospel.

Story Synopsis

Redeeming Light is a story of five people and a child whose lives are connected. Their individual stories are communicated solely through comic book style drawings, laser images and animations set to a musical soundtrack of secular and Christian songs. Each character is striving for happiness and success in the world. Through all their attempts to make a better life for themselves they feel lost and alone.

Wonderfully, our characters are saved through loving Christians. During the song, “Carried to the Table” by Leeland, we see what happens the moment our characters invite Jesus into their hearts and discover the welcoming arms of our Lord.

Redeeming Light reveals that the joy and love we seek in this world is only found through the ultimate relationship with our Lord. His heart’s desire is for us.

Lasers

Redeeming Light lasers are the most powerful man made light source on the earth. In the U.S., their use is regulated by the CDRH (Center for Devices and Radiological Health) and the FDA (Food and Drug Administration). It is illegal to use a powerful laser system unless you receive a special variance from the law. Additionally, all laser show performances must be reported to the state and federal government. We have received all the proper variances and have complied with the state and federal laser safety requirements.

For this performance we are using 6 solid state lasers. Red, green and blue lasers are combined in one projector to produce the colorful screen imagery you will see. The laser light from the lasers is deflected off of two tiny x/y computer controlled mirrors that “draw” the images live on the screen. These computer controlled mirrors are called galvanometers.

Three lasers on the stage create the mid-air atmospheric effects you will see “shooting” from the stage over the heads of the audience to the back of the sanctuary. The lasers that create these dynamic beam effects are DPSS lasers and produce the 532 nm wavelength (lime green color) which has become very popular in movies and tv shows such as Matrix and CSI.

It is interesting to note that laser beams are invisible unless they are projected onto a screen surface or reflected off of particles in the atmosphere. As a result, we are adding water vapor in the form of fog throughout the performance to enhance your experience.
